Nikon TC-14E III AF-S Teleconverter
This modest 1.4× teleconverter is optimized for telephoto (prime) lenses though it can be used with some telephoto zoom lenses. It loses one stop of light when mounted on a lens. The front and rear elements are flourine coated which means they do a good job repelling dust and water. It cannot be used with older "D" telephoto lenses expecting full functionality, but the TC-17E II and TC-20E III can be. It features a gasket on the rear thanks to the lack of Ai coupling. Its lens construction is 7 elements in 4 groups. This teleconverter can be modified to mount to the rear of the TC-20E III teleconverter. The debut price was $500 USD (2014). As of the writing of this article, this teleconverter is still being produced.
